High Performance, Net Zero Learning Center
WKMC Architects is teaming with a park and open space planning design firm, to master plan and design the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center in Corpus Christi, Texas—a living, breathing ecosystem where visitors can connect with nature.
Design goals for this 162-acre nature park include creating a self-sustaining development implementing Net Zero consumption principles. Building orientation, careful use of shading, wind turbines, solar panels, insulated concrete plus many other “green” details will certify this project as LEED Net Zero.
The design process began with an Integrated Design “Eco-charrette,” during which a BIM model for sustainable building and landscape design was developed.
