William McCord is a second-generation architect who followed his father into the profession. He has led WKMC since its founding through a merger in 1994. In addition to business management duties, William is actively involved in the design direction and administration of significant projects in the firm as Principal-in-Charge. His years of experience provide crucial insight to complex design and construction challenges. His greatest pleasure is mentoring emerging leaders in all the skills and insights necessary to a successful career.
Mr. McCord has served in leadership roles within the profession and in the community. As an experiment in sustainable design and construction practices, from 2004-2014 Mr. McCord also started and led Enersave Systems Incorporated, a construction specialty contractor that installs environmentally responsible sprayed-in-place foam insulation and UL-listed firestopping assemblies. That decade of experience in building science has been used to very good effect in the design practices employed by WKMC to make healthier and more energy efficient buildings.
When he’s not in the office, William might be found hunting, skiing, sailing, traveling, or on the golf course.
