New Bank Headquarters Building
WKMC was asked to create a new identity for Texas Champion Bank – an identity that would make a statement about their south Texas coastal location and present an image of “strength and stability.” These requirements resulted in a 38,000 SF three-story building with massive rectilinear wings, tied together with a light-weight, boat-shaped, glass and metal skinned building element.
The boat-shaped element was used to acknowledge the bank’s coastal location, without being too literal. Warm copper and sand-colored materials and blue-green glazing were used to further tie the building to the coastal vernacular and to be inviting for bank customers. The boat shape is repeated inside the building at ceiling details and in furniture selections.
WKMC was responsible for the development of plans and bid packages for bank equipment, security and access control systems, signage, interior finishes, artwork and accessories.
