Building Information Modeling
WKMC is committed to maintaining the most current application of technology in our practice. BIM allows us to create a virtual building in 2D or 3D with computer-generated structural elements like walls, doors, slab, roof, windows, and furniture plus site work, architectural elements, structural framing, air conditioning and plumbing systems. BIM permits us to create and communicate ideas, concepts and details more efficiently, and greatly improve workflow patterns. BIM delivers a faster project and manages information from which users can explore the design phase through construction and into operations.
Part of the WKMC operating approach with BIM is to engage major subcontractors early in design. This affords an opportunity to fully exploit the benefits of BIM through clash detection, reduction of shop drawings, quantity surveys for unit pricing, and work sequencing.
