WKMC Architects’ Chris Hansen had the privilege of speaking to a group of King High School students about a career in drafting and engineering.  The ‘2017 King Fest’ Freshman Orientation took place on August 8th and is an annual event for King High School.

Chris, WKMC’s Design Drafter, along with Esteban Garcia, Career & Technology/Drafting Teacher at KHS, spoke with approximately 50 students interested in a future in the drafting, architectural, and engineering fields.  Chris and Mr. Garcia spoke with students about the upcoming school year, job opportunities in the field, requirements needed, and how enrolling in four years of drafting/engineering courses while attending King High School can give them a leg up if they decide to continue on to community college or 4-year University.  This was not a first for Chris.  He regularly appears as a guest speaker in Mr. Garcia’s class throughout the school year and looks forward to continuing this tradition.
